DeepCredentials

eID and DeepID verify who someone is. DeepCredentials adds the missing context: roles, memberships, permissions, qualifications, and access rights inside your company, event, or ecosystem.

The federal trust infrastructure.
Simply usable.

Government trust

Built on the swiyu infrastructure

DeepCredentials is the SaaS platform by DeepCloud that enables companies, authorities and organisations to issue, manage and verify digital credentials on Switzerland's official swiyu trust infrastructure.

Swiss e-ID

Powered by the Swiss e-ID

The Swiss e-ID gives everyone residing in Switzerland a state-recognised digital identity. DeepCredentials makes it directly usable for your business – with no need to build and operate your own systems for verifying.

Beyond borders

Works beyond national borders

DeepID extends your reach wherever the state e-ID falls short: for international customers, for employees without an e-ID, or for people who have not yet applied for one or are not eligible to receive one.

Verify identities

Verifying identities has never been easier. Verify the Swiss e-ID directly within your existing processes, for example for applications such as a resident's card or for age verification in your online shop. DeepID additionally covers all persons who do not yet have an e-ID or do not meet the requirements to apply for one.

Issue and nanage your own credentials

Issue digital credentials such as employee ID cards, certificates, membership cards, resident's cards or guest cards. You define the appearance of the credentials and specify which information they contain. You manage the lifecycle of your credentials centrally, from issuance to revocation.

Verify credentials

Verify issued credentials digitally and within seconds: directly at the customer counter via QR code or NFC, integrated into your applications, or directly within DeepCredentials. You see immediately whether a credential is valid and has been issued by a trusted body, and can use the data released by the person concerned in your business processes.

Other features

Wide range of credentials

Whether it's an employee ID card, a second factor for two-factor authentication, a membership card or an authorisation credential, manage all your credentials centrally with DeepCredentials. One platform for every use case. One platform for every use case.

Self-Service for credential orders

Recipients order credentials themselves, optionally with or without a prior identity check. You approve the requests and issue the credentials directly from DeepCredentials.

Branding

Personalise the DeepCredentials interface with your logo and brand colours. This accompanies recipients from the order through issuance to verification, consistently in your visual identity.

On the swiyu trust infrastructure

DeepCredentials uses the Swiss Confederation's government-run swiyu trust infrastructure, based on open standards (OID4VCI, OID4VP) and compatible with the swiyu Wallet, the official wallet of Switzerland's trust infrastructure.

Trust rules

Define centrally which issuers your organisation trusts and which credentials are accepted in which situation. Example for outdoor pool access: in a single step, you verify both the digital pool card and the resident's card.

Selective disclosure

For each verification, you request only the attributes you actually need for the business process. And your customers release only those same attributes. For age verification in your online shop, the answer "over 18" is sufficient; date of birth and address remain with the holder. This allows you to meet data protection requirements without additional effort, while strengthening your customers' trust.

Use cases

From employee ID card to event ticket.

Employee badges

Identify your employees digitally, from their first day of work through to their departure. The card serves as an access credential, a second factor for sensitive applications, or a proof of authorisation with customers and partners.

Resident cards

Issue residents with a digital proof of their place of residence, for discounts at the outdoor pool, access to the recycling centre, or reduced rates at the ski resort. Applications are verified directly via the official Swiss e-ID.

Student cards

A digital ID card accompanies students throughout their daily lives, from the canteen to the library and public transport discounts. Schools and universities issue the card; accepting bodies verify it within seconds.

Certificates and diplomas

Issue certificates, diplomas and further education credentials digitally, tamper-proof and verifiable in the long term. Graduates carry their educational history in their wallet; future employers verify it within seconds.

Professional credentials

Document qualifications and professional licences digitally, from the FMH register entry to the SUVA safety certificate and the legal practice licence. Clients, site managers or patients verify authorisations on-site and in real time.

Member and customer cards

Replace plastic cards with digital credentials, for sports clubs, industry associations, mountain railways, hotel guest cards or retail loyalty programmes. You manage cards centrally; renewals and revocations are handled at the touch of a button.

Visitor passes

External persons identify themselves digitally at the factory gate, reception or security checkpoint, using a visitor or supplier pass that combines access authorisation, training records and contract entitlement in a single credential. Security and reception staff verify on-site via QR code or NFC.

Tickets and accreditations

Issue tickets, season passes or accreditations as digital credentials, from concerts to trade fairs and stadium visits. Entry checks at the gate use QR code or NFC; resale and counterfeiting are prevented cryptographically.

Security

Your credentials are in safe hands.

DeepCredentials is ISO 27001:2022-certified and hosts all data exclusively on servers in Switzerland.

On the government trust infrastructure

DeepCredentials is built on the swiyu trust infrastructure and open standards such as OID4VCI and OID4VP.

Decentralised data storage

Credentials stay in the holder's wallet, reducing both breach risk and third-party tracking.

Secure Swiss hosting

Hosted exclusively on secure servers in Switzerland, with security, privacy and operational controls designed for enterprise and public-sector environments.

You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers.

Who can use DeepCredentials?

DeepCredentials is designed for any organisation that wants to issue or verify digital credentials. The platform is built horizontally and can be used across sectors from healthcare, education and public administration to industry, tourism and events. Typical use cases include employee ID cards, professional and authorisation credentials, educational certificates, resident cards, age verification and event tickets.

How quickly can DeepCredentials be deployed?

As a SaaS solution, DeepCredentials is ready to use immediately, with no installation and no infrastructure of your own. Once you have completed the onboarding process with the Swiss Confederation as a recognised issuer, you can begin issuing and verifying straight away. We guide you through every step.

Pilot operations on the beta environment of the trust infrastructure are already possible today. Contact us.

How can I identify persons who do not have a Swiss e-ID?

With DeepID, you identify persons using international passports and identity documents. The identification process is ZertES- and eIDAS-compliant and certified by KPMG in accordance with ETSI TS 119 461. Once the official Swiss e-ID is widely available, both identity sources can be used in parallel within DeepCredentials.

Can we integrate DeepCredentials into our existing software?

Yes. We offer standard integrations for Abacus and Innosolv, with further industry solutions to follow. For all other specialist applications, DeepCredentials provides a documented REST API with an OpenAPI specification, through which issuance and verification can be integrated directly.

In which wallet are credentials stored?

Credentials are not stored centrally; they reside exclusively in the wallet of the respective person. DeepCredentials currently supports the swiyu Wallet of the Swiss Confederation as the official wallet of Switzerland's trust infrastructure. Further wallets and a dedicated DeepCredentials Wallet are in preparation, so that credentials can be used in different environments in future.

Which standards and protocols does DeepCredentials support?

DeepCredentials is built on the open standards of the Swiss trust infrastructure: OID4VCI (OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance) for the issuance of credentials, OID4VP (OpenID for Verifiable Presentations) for verification, SD-JWT VC as the credential format, did:webvh for issuer identifiers, and Token Status List for revocation. The Swiss Confederation's Base Registry serves as the central trust source. Your customers receive, store and present your credentials in the same swiyu Wallet as their official Swiss e-ID, without any additional app.

How are issued credentials revoked?

Credentials can be managed at any time via the DeepCredentials portal or through the API. You can permanently revoke a credential, for example when an employee leaves, or temporarily suspend it, for example during a sabbatical. The status change is recorded in the Token Status List on the Swiss Confederation's Base Registry and is immediately visible to all verifiers.

What is the difference between the Swiss e-ID and DeepID?

The official Swiss e-ID is issued by the Swiss Confederation and is intended for persons resident in Switzerland who can be identified using an official Swiss identity document. DeepID is issued by DeepCloud and identifies persons using international passports and identity documents, ZertES- and eIDAS-compliant and certified by KPMG in accordance with ETSI TS 119 461. Both can be used in parallel within DeepCredentials, ensuring that persons without the official Swiss e-ID can also be reliably identified.

How does DeepCredentials differ from swiyu directly?

swiyu is the Swiss Confederation's government trust infrastructure, including the wallet app of the same name. It provides the technical foundation but does not offer managed services for organisations. DeepCredentials is built on top of swiyu and provides organisations with a fully managed SaaS service for issuing, managing and verifying their own credentials, including onboarding support and an API.

How does DeepCredentials work with other DeepCloud products?

DeepCredentials is part of the DeepCloud platform and can be combined with its other products. DeepID extends the official Swiss e-ID with a ZertES- and eIDAS-compliant identification process for persons without an e-ID. DeepSign connects issued credentials with legally binding electronic signatures in accordance with ZertES and eIDAS. DeepValidator validates signed documents and certificates for authenticity. Together, these products cover the entire lifecycle of digital identities, credentials and signatures from a single source.
